Five simple steps to beat fatigue
Fatigue can creep up on your due to our busy lifestyles but these five simple steps that can help you get back that spring in your step, improve your sleep and banish fatigue.
1. Start a bedtime routine – Try to go to bed at a similar time, reduce your screen time about an hour beforehand and declutter your sleep space.
2. Gradually improve your diet – start to add more fruit, vegetables and healthy fats to your diet. Maybe a little more each week.
3. Increase your water intake – Build up your water intake (including teas) to between 2 and 3 litres a day.
4. Improve your movement – Brisk walks, stretches even a quick kitchen disco. Just build in regular breaks from your desk or workstation during the day.
5. Manage stress levels – Don’t ignore growing stress and anxiety levels. Acknowledge them and work on addressing the causes where possible.
Finally, don’t expect miracles. This is a not a quick fix. Food changes and increased water intake may show quick improvements, but everyone is different and recharging your energy levels may take time. Be patient with yourself and your body as you improve your wellbeing.
